These are original digital photographs printed and hand-transferred onto wood. The product, therefore, is not an image on paper, adhered to wood; rather, photo ink is directly on the wood. I use various accents and embellishments including ink wash, acrylics, color pencil, and gold leaf.
I love using this painstaking process because of the affect it achieves. It renders a more delicate image, I can play with the grain of the wood, alter the photograph, distress it, or add details.
